The new generation flagship iPhone 16 series, which has attracted great interest worldwide, has come to the fore again with a rather surprising news. Although Apple indicated that sales are progressing positively, the iPhone 16 may not be released at all in this country in a very unexpected turn of events. Here is that country and the details you need to know…
iPhone 16 launch is officially in danger in Indonesia!
Indonesia’s Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasamita, stated that Apple must fulfill certain conditions to allow the sale of iPhone 16 models in the country. These conditions include the company fulfilling its local investment commitments and renewing various certifications related to the country. Otherwise, it will not be possible to sell the iPhone 16 in Indonesia.
Kartasamita emphasized that Apple needs to renew its TKDN (Local Content Level) certification. The TKDN certification requires that at least 40% of a product is made up of local components. According to reports, Apple’s previous certification has expired, and the renewal process is still pending. This renewal can be done through various means, such as local production processes and app development.
In addition, it was reported that Apple has not fully met its investment commitments. So far, the company has invested approximately $94.53 million in Indonesia. However, this figure is less than the committed amount of $109.6 million. While the gap is not too large, this suggests that the company might resolve the situation soon.
What do you think about this issue? Will Apple take action on this matter soon? Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments.
